Oman family itinerary - adventures curated by parents

Oman family itinerary - adventures curated by parents

I explored Oman independently with my family - a wonderful perk of living here for 2.5 years. You'll find plenty of personal recommendations here on Oman Wanderlust, whether you want to do the same or explore as part of an organised trip.

However, I'm often asked if I can recommend a guide or travel agent for people who want a big adventure but don't have the time to sweat the small details.

This is where I'm delighted to introduce Laura Dean. She runs Little People Big Adventures, a UK-based, ATOL-protected travel agency that works with local guides to plan your perfect family holiday in Oman. She can also tailor trips for couples and groups through her luxury travel agency, The Travel Design Company.

Laura is a mum like me with loads of experience of travelling the world with her two children. She's also a big fan of Oman - that's how we connected.

Now Laura and I have pooled our expertise to help even more people discover Oman.

How? Well, I've added a generous helping of my in-country knowledge to Laura's industry expertise and together created a 12-day Oman itinerary. It covers the absolute highlights for visitors - the kind of experiences that my family will remember for a long, long time.

What makes these family itineraries different?

Living in Oman gave me something guide books can't offer - real experience of what works brilliantly for families and what doesn't.

I've tested countless activities with my own children, discovered which beach resorts have proper child-friendly facilities, learnt which wadis are manageable with little legs, and figured out realistic travel times when you need regular snack stops and loo breaks.

This isn't a generic tour package. The itinerary I've helped shape reflects genuine family adventures - swimming with dozens of turtles, desert camps where my kids felt like real adventurers, the souqs where they haggled for their own treasures, and the mountain villages that opened their eyes to Oman's rich culture and heritage.

Laura at Little People Big Adventures has taken this insider knowledge and combined it with her expertise in creating seamless, stress-free family travel. She handles all the logistics while ensuring you experience the Oman I've grown to love.

Flexibility and customisation

While there's a carefully crafted 12-day itinerary to inspire you, Little People Big Adventures understands that every family is different.

Perhaps you have adventurous teenagers keen for more hiking and water sports, or younger children who need gentler activities and more downtime.

Maybe you're fascinated by Oman's heritage and want to spend longer exploring forts and traditional villages, or you're nature enthusiasts hoping to spot dolphins and endemic birds.

Laura works with you to adapt the itinerary based on your family's ages, interests, energy levels and travel style. She can adjust the type of accommodation, add or remove activities, extend your stay in places that particularly appeal to you, or incorporate special interests.

Our Oman itinerary is your starting point - not your limitation.

What's included?
