Holiday like a celebrity in Oman
You’ll already know I love to bang on about this lesser known gem of the Arabian Peninsula, but it’s not just me. Celebrities love it too! Dubai has long attracted the rich and famous for luxurious getaways. But for those wanting to step out of the spotlight, the Sultanate is growing in popularity. So if you want to holiday like a celebrity in Oman, where should you go?
But before the good stuff, I’d like to thank you for visiting Oman Wanderlust and also encourage you to join our Facebook group Oman Unpacked. It’s a community to get even more personal recommendations from visitors and expats who love Oman.

Winter vacay like Paloma Faith
Delightful UK pop diva, TV presenter and actress Paloma Faith booked a babymoon in Muscat in January 2026 and shared how much she loved it on Instagram.
While the star doesn’t give away all the details, I immediately recognised her hotel and the places she snapped.
Where Paloma stayed

Paloma picked the perfect spot for a chilled family getaway: The Hilton Muscat Al Bandar (formerly the Shangri-La). Hilton recently took over the three 5 star hotels at this beach resort to the East of Muscat.
DoubleTree by Hilton Muscat Al Waha is the most family-friendly hotel with connecting rooms, splash parks and a 2km lazy river.

Next door is the Hilton Al Bandar where you’ll find the delicious Al Tanoor buffet and at the far end of the bay the Al Husn, an adults only luxury hotel.
All three share a spa, several restaurants and private beach where Green Turtles nest over the summer.

Paloma’s Muscat excursions

Paloma’s holiday snaps show she took advantage of the Hilton’s position close to one of the oldest parts of Muscat, Muttrah, seeing:
- The Sultan’s official residence, Al Alam Palace
- Al Mirani Fort
- And the ancient port of Muttrah.
And when you’re on a babymoon in the sun, what more could you want than relaxing by the beach and short excursions to admire the sights?

Retreat to Musandam like Anita Rani

Broadcaster and celebrity star of one of my favourite travel shows Race Across the World, Anita Rani, enjoyed a blissful spa break in Musandam.
Where Anita stayed

Spa resorts don’t much more secluded than the Six Senses Zighy Bay in the northern-most tip of Oman.
This 5 star beach hotel sits in its own 1.6km sandy bay with pool villas, exclusive excursions and an indulgent spa including a Moroccan hammam.
Anita told The Times: “It’s the people I meet who really make this trip special. Each one treats me as though I’m a member of their family.
“The resort is exactly what I need after a terrible year. It gives me space to think, recharge and plan my next trip. I’m an adventurer, a dreamer, an ants-in-my-pants kind of traveller, but I don’t feel the need to leave this piece of paradise.”
Anita’s Oman itinerary

With these top notch facilities and the Hajar Mountains forming a barrier between the resort and the real world, it’s no surprise that Anita chose to lean into the luxury of this incredible destination hotel.
An extra special guest experience is a night onboard the resort’s 27.5 metre dhow The Dhahab. This traditionally designed, luxury vessel features three bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and can accommodate up to six people.

Enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner cooked by a private chef onboard while sailing through the fjords of northern Oman.
Immerse yourself in Salalah’s Khareef like Khalid Al Ameri
Social media influencer and entreprenaur Khalid Al Ameri is a household name in the UAE and has travelled to Oman several times, most recently to Salalah where he experienced the Khareef – the monsoon season.
Afterwards he wrote: “Honestly, it feels like a whole new world. Everywhere you look, it’s green, the kind of green that makes you stop, breathe, and just take it in, the air smells like rain, and the clouds move so close you feel like they’re a part of the landscape. Each photo I take looks like a painting but even that doesn’t do this place justice.”
Where Khalid stayed

Salalah hotels don’t come much more exclusive than the Anantara Al Baleed Resort – a villa resort located next to Al Baleed Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
The main attractions of Oman’s southern city are all close by including the Bronze Age Citadel, Museum of Frankincense and Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque.

Pick your perfect stay from deluxe rooms with king-sized beds and sun set views right through to a three-bedroom royal beach villa with private pool.
