  1. Hi Claire ! Great blog! We are organising a trip to Oman this November. If I may, I have a question regarding the bedouin desert camp in Oman as I’ve seen many offers online for luxury campsites. We are looking for a simple and basic stay away from the luxury campsites. Do you remember if there are many other campsites close which make the experience feel rather touristy? Could you tell me how “authentic” it was? Many thanks for your response. Best regards, Sophie

    1. Hi Sophie, you pass a lot of touristy camps at the entrance to the desert on the way to this one, but they are a significant distance from them – about a 20 minute drive. In terms of authenticity, you are not staying in a Bedouin’s home, but the camp is run by Bader whose family once lived a nomadic life. His camp is simple and the food is traditional. There’s no love heart swings for Instagram and the only real luxuries are the flushing toilets 🙂

    2. @Claire Hall, thanks so much for your response, Claire! We booked a night with Bader and are very much looking forward to it !
